A WAY OF BEING WITH CHILDREN (Online Self Paced 5 Week Training)

 The Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County In collaboration with the Center for Child Counseling is excited to bring you "A Way of Being with Children" training which is a Trauma-Informed Approach to Building Resilience in children.

This training combines the science of brain development, child development, and practices to enhance positive child-caregiver relationships and resilience. It includes a wealth of practical and insightful information, strategies, and activities for teachers and childcare center staff. It focuses on attitude, knowledge, and skills to foster positive social-emotional wellness of children. This online training includes 4 modules which are equivalent to 5.5 In-Service hours. Participants can navigate the training on an individual basis pausing and continuing the training as needed.  Participants will receive a hard copy of the “A Way of Being with Children” manual when their registration process is complete.

Please note that you will have a five-week window to complete your training based on your individual start date. These dates will vary depending on when you registered.

•Understanding the importance of attitude in relationships

•Understanding the impact of suspending judgment

•Understanding the importance of a positive caregiver-child relationship

•Increased ability to recognize trauma's impact on the development of children

•Increased knowledge of stages of development

•Increased knowledge in the importance of adult-child relationship and brain development

•The importance of play in children’s development

•The impact of racism and discrimination on children

•Understanding of skills and themes in play therapy

•How to effectively use reflective listening with children

•The difference between encouragement and praise

•Strategies in managing problematic behaviors in children

Classroom materials will be distributed to teachers via our Material Distribution days upon completion of the training.

The Center for Child Counseling will send you information on how to get started. Please keep a close eye on your email and frequently check your Spam to ensure that you do not miss any communications. Your In-service hours certificate can be obtained through your webauthor account upon completion of your self-paced online training.
