Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County News

It is well known how important early learning and education is, because a child’s experiences during the first five years of life provide the foundation for success in school and also charts the course for future successes. Investing in quality early learning and education is the best investment one can make. The Coalition provides parents and families of Palm Beach County with assistance and information in selecting high quality early learning programs, including School Readiness, Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) and access to Children’s Services Council (CSC) Scholarships.

Our Coalition has improved the lives of many children and families in Palm Beach County. During Fiscal Year 2013-2014 alone, over 33,800 unduplicated children were served through Voluntary Prekindergarten, School Readiness and Children Services Council Scholarships programs From the local business community to other non-profit organizations, it is understood that we must prepare our children early to ensure they are ready to learn and ready for life.

This is an exciting time for Palm Beach County regarding early education. In December of 2014, the Board of Directors voted unanimously for the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County to implement all services internally. We will be streamlining services, see efficient saving costs, and most importantly we will be providing high quality customer services to the children and families of Palm Beach County. Our staff has been working diligently to prepare for our “No Wrong Door” community-based service delivery model, expected to be fully implemented on July 1, 2015.

This new approach for the delivery of services includes: Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R), Provider Payments/Reimbursements, and Child Enrollment and Eligibility for all programs (School Readiness, Voluntary Prekindergarten, Children’s Services Council Scholarships, Early Head Start, and Head Start). The Coalition’s model will be one that is reliable and respectful, to ensure all children are Ready for School and for Life. Our model will deliver these services using four community-based locations in the highest served areas with additional roving staff reaching out directly into communities to complete onsite enrollment and eligibility services, providing services to parents, partners and providers where it is most convenient for them. This is an exciting time for the Coalition as we make early learning more easily accessible to parents and families throughout Palm Beach County.

We will be sure to keep you updated on the locations and the progress of the transition. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.
