EARLY CHILDHOOD HUNGER EXISTS IN PALM BEACH COUNTY AND NO KID HUNGRY
AND EARLY LEARNING COALITION ARE TEAMING UP TO HELP
No Kid Hungry Provides Emergency Grant to Feed Children During Pandemic
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (June 26, 2020) –- The Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County is excited to announce a $27,500 emergency grant from No Kid Hungry. The funding will help provide infant formula, baby food, and shelf-stable meals for children enrolled in early learning programs during the summer months.
During this pandemic, the hunger needs in communities have increased tremendously, and the needs to specific to families with young children is no exception. The grant funding will allow the Early Learning Coalition to purchase the needed food items, distribute those items to early learning providers throughout the county, and provide beneficial nutritional information to families.
“Children and families across Palm Beach County are relying on schools and community organizations for support during these challenging times. No Kid Hungry Florida is proud to partner with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County to ensure young children enrolled in early childhood education programs across the county can continue to get the nutrition they need during this crisis. We are honored to offer this grant due to support from the Julie F. and Peter D. Cummings Fund and the Marjorie S. Fisher Fund of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties,” said Sky Beard with No Kid Hungry Florida.
“This grant will help our early learning providers support families with infants and young children. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue No Kid Hungry’ s mission in Palm Beach County,” said Warren Eldridge, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County.
