VPK Sprint to Readiness

Sprint to Readiness is an initiative consisting of 14 weeks of activities targeting emergent reading skills in Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), including:

• Rhyming
• Alliteration
• Syllables
• Blending Sounds
• Letter Recognition
• Story Comprehension
• ...And more!

Guidelines

Implement daily activities in VPK starting the week of February 9th. Based on children's abilities, skills will either be newer concepts or a review.

Use the "Star Summary Report" to identify the children to target students falling between 25-39%.

These activities, designed to target children needing more support, will benefit all children in VPK.
