Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) For Four-Year-Olds
The Family Portal has been upgraded to Single Sign-On. To access your account, follow the steps below. You can also refer to the Family Portal Guide or watch the video tutorial for instructions.
Existing Families:
- Visit the Family Portal. Click the Sign-In  button.
- Click Hosted / Self-Registered login.
- Enter your username and password from the Single-Sign-On registration.Â
- You will be prompted to send a code to your selected method of multi-factor authentication. Retrieve the code and enter it. Then, click the Verify Code button.
- Your Family Portal account home page will be displayed.
New Families:
- Visit the Family Portal. Click the Sign-up button
- Enter your valid email address and click the Send Verification Button.
- Retrieve the code and enter it on the Portal page. Click the Verify Code button.
- Complete the relevant fields.
- You will be prompted to send a code to your selected method of multi-factor authentication. Retrieve the code and enter it. Then, click the Verify Code button.
- Navigate back to the Family Portal homepage to sign-in.

VPK Enrollment Is Open for the 2026/27 Year!
Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is a free program available for all Florida four-year olds, regardless of their family income.
When a child successfully completes the VPK program, they enter school more confident and ready than children who do not attend VPK. Give your child a strong start on their school success!

Find a VPK Provider
VPK programs may be administered by public, private, and faith-based providers who meet the State eligibility requirements.
VPK providers determine their own program hours and days to meet the 540 or 300 hour requirement.

Documents Needed to Verify Child’s Age And Complete VPK Application:
Proof of Child's Age: (One of the following)
- An original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate
- A passport or certificate of the child’s arrival in the United States
- An immunization record a public health officer or licensed practicing physician signed
- A valid military dependent identification card
Proof of Child's Residency: (One of the following)Â
- Utility bill (electric, gas, water), cable, or home phone bill
- Pay stub
- Residential rental agreement or receipt from rental payment
- Government-issued document (e.g., Florida driver’s license, Florida identification card, property tax assessment showing a homestead exemption)
VPK Specialized Instructional Services (SIS) Education Program
VPK Specialized Instruction Services (VPK SIS) take place outside the traditional classroom setting and are designed for 4-year-olds with disabilities who have a current Individualized Educational Plan from local school district.
The Department of Education approves VPK SIS providers whose services meet statutory standards, maintains a list of approved providers, and notifies each school district and early learning coalition of the approved provider list, linked below.
